080608 Wisdom Technologies Working Intensive 8 June 2008

CONTEXT

TheTransitioner.org (http://TheTransitioner.org) is an international, independent and not for profit organization that does research and development on collective intelligence, wisdom and consciousness (CIWC). All of the materials and results it produces are directly offered into the public domain. TheTransitioner.org works on new technologies and methodologies that will improve the governance capacity of humanity and its organizations. The development of a decentralized, democratic global monetary system, driven by civil society, is at the heart of its commitments (http://openmoney.info). Through seminars, conferences, publications and media events, TheTransitioner.org supports people and organizations that are pioneers in the evolution of social life.

TheTransitioner.org aims to embody its own discoveries by becoming a global wisdom driven organization, applying Global Collective Intelligence, Wisdom and Consciousness (GCIWC) to itself. A GCIWC organization is more expanded in the being (consciousness, sovereignty...), and more efficient in the doing (reality principle, complexity) than past and present organizations. While it transcends and includes previous forms of collective intelligence, it overcomes their limits , such as:

  • original collective intelligence: number (many participants) and distance (separating them)
  • pyramidal collective intelligence: complexity (due to centralization and hard coded social design), pollution (due to design, economies of scale, scarce money), separation between being/doing, loyalty versus integrity...

We believe that the fundamental means to achieve such organizations is to gather networks of individualized and sovereign persons who have built enough internal and external capacity (i.e. both integral practice and technical awareness) to let emerge such an organization.

Inspiring by living example is at the core of our commitment. We believe this approach to be wise and to create powerful evolution.

INTENTION

The intention of this event is to create a working intensive for those who want to build technologies and related practices of global collective intelligence, wisdom and consciousness, and are committed to using and sharing them in practice themselves, now.

CONTENT

The event is structured around--

1) Building some key intellectual materials:

    a)  A knowledge-base of how every aspect of the life of previous forms of CIWC maps on to the GCIWC context.  This includes an understanding of what is specific to the physical world and specific to the online world.

    b) A knowledge-base of technology: including existing technology that we can use already, technology that need evolution and work, and technology that needs to build from scratch.

2) Inquiring deeply into such questions as:

What is the dreamed online community that can be built today? How do we build a wisdom circle online? How do we meditate remotely together? How do we create chains of command and chains of action based on emergence, leadership and competency rather than exclusive descending authority? How do we create market places for tasks and accountabilities that are more efficient than usual hierarchical command&control model? How do we balance being and doing? How do we balance, in the online world, chaos for emergence and creativity, and order for predictability and delivery? How do we balance and harmonize physical and online worlds? How do we specifically support the open money work?

3) Learning what our partners and related projects have already implemented or developed for themselves: Being Essence, Tao Village, ICON, open money...

4) Building practices that embody, answer the questions in the inquiry and use the knowledge-base that we have integrated.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES

  1. That TheTransitioner.org has taken its next step in becoming a global wisdom driven organization. This outcome will serve all other related organizations and projects.
  2. That improved community and infrastructural support for open money and partner/related projects has been developed in areas such as project management, community building, wisdom driven processes, training, etc...
  3. That enough material has been produced to design the next on site and online seminars about GCIWC, and wisdom centered practices
  4. That the work of the week is directly translatable into market value in the current world for income generation.
  5. That the participants have developed sufficient practice during the week that after the event when they become a global group, they are still capable of making decisions as a body.
  6. That we have experienced joy and shared a great moment together in Les Auquiers.

METHODOLOGIES

Wisdom circles.  6 agreements. Clerking. Threshing Sessions.  Role play. Games. Technology experiments. All level integration... All this is currently being designed.

COMMITMENTS

  1. To prepare ahead of time: we expect to do as much of information gathering in advance of the of the event as possible.  Our intention is that our time together is about integration rather than collection.  We will have wiki and necessary online tools available for this purpose.
  2. To Integrate by doing and being.  Rather than talking about solutions, our commitment is do them and be them.  This means that as much as possible our aim will be to create practices that will carry with us after we leave.

WHO ARE THE PARTICIPANTS?

Participants are those who are invited by a member of the convening group. Convening group is composed of Frédéric le Guern, Eric Harris-Braun, Fernanda Ibarra, Jean-François Noubel, Sybille Saint Girons.

Participants are familiar with CIWC, intellectually and as committed practitioners. They have a deep and recognized expertise in any of the areas related to CIWC. They have already achieved major personal development, they have integrated enough wisdom in every plane of their being to embrace such a working / R&D intensive on CIWC.

COSTS

Cost per participant is $1,400 for the whole week (about $200 per day). This covers direct costs. It includes lodging, the use of Les Auquiers (buildings and park), organic vegetarian sacred cooking by Marc Boucher de Lignon, internet access, ground transportation from airport or train station.
